Back from Southern France: Pooja’s Journey Picks Up Again!
Bonjour, friends of Pooja and big adventures!
I’m Marla Emory, illustrator of Pooja: Destiny Awaits, and I’m finally back from a whirlwind trip to Southern France—think lavender fields, crusty baguettes, and way too much cheese (no regrets!). It’s been a minute since my last post—life got busy with planes and Provence—but I’m here to catch you up on where Pooja’s at and what’s next. Jamison Shults and I have been hustling, and our little South Indian puppy’s story is ready to roll again!
Southern France Vibes
Southern France was a dream—sketching in city squares, sipping coffee in Carcassonne, and soaking in that golden light. It’s funny—Pooja’s all about kindness and connection, and I saw that everywhere: kids chasing each other in village squares, folks sharing meals, a bit like Holi’s spirit (March 13-14) back in India. It’s got me itching to draw her in new scenes—maybe a French pup joins her crew?
Pooja’s Progress
While I was away, things kept moving! Pooja: El Destino Aguarda, our Spanish hardcover, is processing on IngramSpark—proofs should be here any day, aiming early April drop. The English eBook got approved too—live soon on Amazon, Kobo, you name it. The long plane ride gave me time to illustrations for "Pooja and the White Buffalo"; Pooja's next adventure to help reconnect a Long Horn cattle heard that were separated during a tornado in Souther Oklahoma
Events on the Horizon
Big stuff’s brewing! Lincoln Parish Library’s storytime is locked for May 28—Jamison narrating, me sketching Pooja live for Ruston kids. My lifelong friend and recent travel companion connected us with Rayna at BCB in NOLA—could be a bookstore or library event soon. Southern France gave me ideas—maybe a travel twist for our readings? Pooja’s global heart fits right in.
Where We’re At
Those 50 English hardcovers are still kicking—some sold via Messenger (@poojaadventures on FB), some waiting for hands. The Spanish edition’s next, and with daily blog updates back on track here at www.jamisonshults.com, our 7-10 hits a day might jump. France was a pause, not a stop—Pooja’s ready to leap again!
